Study Synopsis

Allergic Contact Dermatitis (ACD) is an occupational health hazards. Risk assessment and management of allergic contact dermatitis require Guinea pig Maximization or Buhler tests which are well established. The Principle of 3 Rs (i.e. Reduction, Refinement and Replacement) promoted us to validate alternate method, which is well accepted by regulators across the globe i.e. Local Lymph Node Assay (LLNA). Strength of LLNA is as follows:

Scientific: 
· Sufficiently validated for a hazard assessment 
· It is mechanistically-based 
· required only induction exposure 
· Provides quantitative/qualitative assessment 
· Dose response assessment 
· Suitable for testing of coloured test article 

Animal welfare 
· Reduce the number of animals 
· Reduce the animal distress 
· Required less duration to complete the experiment
